Zalman Liebgold

 

L. was born in 1873 in Krakow, Galicia.

His father was a dealer with eyer, a large house owner. He became enamored with the Yiddish stage in 1900 through his younger brother Zelig. He acted in comical character roles. He was known among the Galician Yiddish actors under the name of "Shetniak".

L. had acted in the troupes of other actors, Glimer, Gimpel, Ber Hart, Ebell and in Romania with Aschkenazy.

L. had retired from the stage and had a shop in Krakow.

L.'s son, Leybele, acts on the Yiddish stage.
