Malka Lisak


L. was born in 1900 in Kreshnevits, Poland. Her parents were in business.

From childhood on she was very much interested in literature.

As a child of eleven she wrote a play in Polish and she performed with children. L. read foreign languages a great deal and in 1915 wrote a drama "Eyngefalene vert".

After a trip across Switzerland, she arrived in 1921 to the Soviet Union, where she settled and debuted in 1925 with a story in "Yungvald".

In 1923 in Moscow there was published together with two stories L.'s drama "Velt-vinkl".
