M. was born in 1895 in Odessa, Ukraine. Her father was a commissioner. She received a secular education. During a ball, she arranged through her brother to perform a song, and she thus got the attention of the present Yiddish theatre director Sabsey, to which she soon entered into his chorus and after several years went over to act twice as a prima donna in operettas. In 1912 she entered into Krause's troupe, with whom she toured across Turkey and Romania.

She came back and acted as a prima donna in Rappel's troupe.

In 1915 she traveled with a troupe as a soubrette, a prima donna and in "old comical" roles.

In 1918 she returned to Odessa and, after that she lost her voice. She went over to old comic roles, which she acted as in Fishzon's troupe. Here she married actor Moshe David Makharovsky, with whom she came in 1921 to Poland, and since then has followed the same path to the stage as her husband.
