M. was born in 1893 in Warsaw, Poland. His father was the owner of a well factory. Until age thirteen he learned in a cheder. He sang as a choir boy with Cantors Sirota, Mendlovitsh, Fogelnest et al.

In his early youth he entered into a leather business as an employee, but didn't stay there for a long time, and soon after seeing the first Yiddish theatre production, left "imitating" the actors. M. then went together with friends into "? plt" with their theatre in their own houses and throughout the houses of the neighbors.

In 1909 there came to his brother David, also an "amateur", the opportunity to act in the village Falenits with "amateurs" (among them the late actor Adolf and Herman Fenigshteyn et al), and in 1910 he entered into as a professional actor Lermanke's troupe in Minsk, where he debuted as "Avraham" in Gabel's "Tate mames tsrut".

Until 1912 he traveled around Russia. From 1912-14 he was with various itinerant troupes across Poland. In 1915 he sang couplets in cabarets and theatres, in 1916-20 he acted in Lithuania, then returned to Poland, where he has acted until today and is one of the members of "Unzer teater" in Vilna.
