SHORT BIOGRAPHIES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN
THE Yiddish THEATRE
aS DESCRIBED IN zALMEN zYLBERCWEIG'S "lEKSIKON FUN YIDISHN TEATER"
M. was born in 1882 in Mezritsh, Poland. His father was
an owner of a glass-[hute] in Tsigelnya.
He learned in a
cheder with a half-enlightened teacher. From his youth
he manifested an aspiration to paint, act and write. At
age fifteen he became a house painter. He took an active
part in the revolutionary movement of 1905, and debuted
with a story in "Veg" (1906), and since then has
published more works.
In 1917 M. has published a
dramatic poem in one act "Ohn a melodye" (publisher A.
Z. Reyzen -- "Lexicon of
Yiddish Literature", Vol. II, pp. 316-321.
