Odesser Folks-Singer
(Meir Gorboy [Parch])
 

One of the best popular singers ("folks-zinger"), he used his lyrics to easily provoke tears from those who listened to him.

He used the finger at his neck [flegt mit di finger azoy tsuknakn tsum takt, az er hot farhilkht dem orkester].

He hadn't yet written, and he left foreign sheet music(?) in his name(?)

After the war he became a ticket taker in the Odessa Yiddish State Theatre.

When he [flegt veln aroysrufn oyfmerkzamkeyt tsu zich, fleg er oysshreyen].
