According to the actor M. Myodovnik, in 1891 in his city, Bendin, Poland, there came a troupe under the direction of Shtumakher.

Between the actors were the Pyurniks. The repertory of the troupe is stress[bashtanen] for "Bel-Tshubah", "Treyfnyak", "Breyndele kozak", "Mishke un moshke", "Kuni lemel" and "Kbtsnzan un hungerman". The plays hadn't been successful and many of the actors went hungry.

In 1897-8 he had--according to Myodovnik--found employment in Lodz with the troupe of Yom-Tov, because he hadn't been able to withstand an entire season[?]

The directors of the troupe were Silfershteyn and Rezhiser -- Avraham Fishzon and in the troupe were engaged Pyurnik and his wife.
