Sonia Sharavner
(Sofia Viner)
 

 

She was born in 1885 in Konotop, Ukraine.

Her sister Viera Rozanka came over, there were to be five sisters, orphans. S. was very lovely, she had studied modiste sewing.

When Sharavner came to play in Konotop, she had [oybergeredt] to become an actress.

Together with him she ran away from the shtetl, married him and still played in his troupes or together with him.

In 1924 S., according to Mark Leiptsiker, died in a hospital in Leningrad.

Her daughter, Yeva, is a Yiddish stage actress in Soviet Russia.
