Born on 8 September 1909 in Czernowitz, Bukovina.

Her father owned a bakery.

Even while in school, she was already a good singer.

Being young, she used to work with a milliner.

Her cousin, the actor Adolf Tefner, introduced her to Sarah Kanner, who brought her into the troupe where she acted in children's roles.

After that, T. played with Friedman.

In 1928 she traveled with her cousin to Bucharest, and she played there in a Yiddish variety show.

Then together with him, she played a season in a theatrical troupe Pomul Verde in Iasi, and since that time she has remained on the Yiddish stage as a soubrette.
