V. was born in 1866 in Dvinsk, Latvia, to well-to-do parents.

Her father was a footwear merchant.

Due to her father's death the children had to begin working and endure the home, and V. became a re-toucher for a photographer.

In 1881 she became known  to actor Yosef Vaynshtok, who took her onto the stage. After acting for a short time with Gimpel as a prima donna, she she followed the same path as her husband Yosef Vaynshtok.

In 1901 V. came to America and here she retired from the stage.
