Born in 1889 in Warsaw, Poland, into a Chasidic family.

Until eighteen years of age he learned in a yeshiva and as a 'yeshiva boy' debuted as "Br nsh" in a short sketch in Sh. Y. Yatskan's "Idishe vakhenblat (Yiddish Weekly Paper)", afterwards in other Yiddish periodical issues.

Later he became a permanent co-worker at "Moment", and since 1925 has moved over to "Heynt".

Y. has also issued humorous publications and a Chasidic novel.

On 3 April 1921 Y. for A. Samberg put on in the Warsaw Central Theatre Y. and M. Kipnis' comedy "Mitn khkh fun dbuk" [a parody of Anski's "The Dybbuk"].
