Yefim Zlatagarov
(Chaim Goldenberg)
 

 

Z. was born on 14 March 1894 in Kishinev, Bessarabia.

His father was a manager in a mill.

In 1912 he completed the local school of commerce, working a year in a bank, serving in the army during the World War, and then returning in 1918 to become a merchant of lebensmitlen, afterwards a writer in the city management, and participating in Russian amateur productions.

In 1919 Z., due to a sickness of an actor, was taken into the M. Segalesko troupe, and he performed as "De Santos" in "Akosta".

After working for a certain time across the province, Z. performed with the troupe of Young, later in the Jignitza with Itsikl Goldenberg, then with Aschkenazy, Kaner, M. Segalesko, Itskovitsh, Picon and in member troupes.

In 1928 Z. acted with Goldenberg.
