Khaya (Clara) Zucker
(Mishnievska)


Z. was born in 1896 in Shpale, Kiev Gubernia, Ukraine.

Her father was a calligrapher in a gymnasium. Her mother was a Ukrainian actress.

She completed a five-class gymnasium in Warsaw, to which her family had brought her.

She began as the second soubrette in the troupe for Rappel, later crossing over to prima donna roles, and later to character roles. She married actor Sholem Zucker and followed the same path to the stage as her husband.
