In a
synagogue somewhere near the end of Coney Island, my uncle Artie and
aunt Miriam married, subsequently moving to the surrounds of our
nation's capitol.
"The
wedding took place in a lovely Reform synagogue in Brighton Beach. It
seemed like it was the hottest day of the year, and there was no
air-conditioning. There was no caterer, so everybody pitched in and
brought sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw, something to eat."-
