One of his daughters, Chaja (perhaps the eldest daughter, standing in
the photo above) emigrated in 1920, at age nineteen. She travelled with
two other girls her age, named Rajchta Sucawicz and Chaja Finkielsztejn,
both of whom were probably her cousins, who left their nearest relative
named Fraim Sucawicz of Zambrow. After their arrival at Ellis Island,
one would head off to the Bronx, another to Chicago, Illinois, while
Chaja would remain in New York City, meeting with her uncle F.
Finkelstein, who lived on Broadway in Manhattan. |
