Emanuel Desser
 

 

D. was born on 23 April 1893 in Lemberg, Galicia.

His parents were the actors Joseph Desser and Sally Beshtendik.

He completed a four-class gymnasium in Lemberg.

Since 1912 until the outbreak of the war, he traveled with a group of folksingers.

From 1916-18 he was director and co-worker for a German variety [group] across Galicia.

In 1918 he was a concessioner in Ebell's troupe, where he debuted as "Yafa" in Gordin's "King Lear".

In 1928 he was prompter in Gimpel's troupe in Lemberg.
