Aida is an opera in four acts, first performed at the Cairo Opera House on 24th December 1871.

Radames is the captain of the Egyptian guard.
Aida is the daughter of the King of Ethiopia who was captured during a war with Egypt. Now she is a slave to Amneris, the Pharoah's daughter.


Radames sings Celeste Aida (Heavenly Aida).



La Bohème

La Bohème is an opera in four acts, first performed at the Teatro Regio, Turin on 1st February 1896.

Rodolfo is a poet living in Paris who falls in love with a seamstress named Mimi. They live together, but quarrel because Rodolfo is jealous and he plans to leave her. However, Mimi becomes sick and dies from consumption.


Rodolfo sings Che gelida manina (What a frozen little hand).


I Pagliacci

I Pagliacci is a drama in a prologue and two acts,
first performed at the Teatro Dal Verme, Milan on 21st May 1892.

I Pagliacci is a story within a story featuring two clowns, Canio and Tonio, Canio's wife Nedda and a villager named Silvio. This is a story of Canio's jealousy, Nedda and her lover, told by these characters in costume in a play that they will perform.


Canio sings Vesti la giubba (Put on the costume).

Tosca is a melodrama in three acts, first performed at the Teatro Costanzi, Rome on 14th January 1900.

Andrea Chénier is an historical drama in four acts, first performed at Teatro alla Scala, Milan on 28th March 1896.








Andrea Chénier sings Un dí, all' azzurro spazio (One day, in the blue heaven).

Un Ballo in Maschera (A Masked Ball) is a melodrama in three acts, first performed at the Teatro Apollo, Rome on 17th February 1859.






Riccardo sings Ma se m'è forza perderti (It is a force to lose you).

Faust is a an opera in five acts, first performed at the Théâtre Lyrique, Paris on 19th March 1859.









Faust sings Salut! demeure chaste et pure (I greet you, home chaste and pure).

Il Trovatore is a drama in four parts, first performed at the Teatro Apollo, Rome on 19th January 1853.







Manrico sings Ah sì, ben mio (Oh, my love) and Di quella pira (Of that pyre).

The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) is a "singspiel" in two acts, first performed at the Theater auf der Wieden, Vienna on 30th September 1791.





Tamino sings Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön (This Likeness is exceptionally lovely) and O wenn ich doch
(Oh if I only...).
